Labelexpo Cartes unveiled a whole stand full of new equipment to an appreciative audience in Brussels.

In partnership with HP Indigo, Cartes created a digital production line for cosmetic labels comprising of an HP WS 2000 digital press, new varnish unit, CE 251 foil printing unit, Laser 350 die cutting and RT 330 slitter/rewinder. This configuration showed visitors the possibility of current in-line developments that are beginning to impact label production.

Separately Cartes launched the brand new 500W laser system, cutting preprinted labels on the fly. With a laser head speed of 500 metres per minute the Cartes Laser 350/500 performed at web speeds of 30 metres/minute on flexo printed self-adhesive label stock.

Labelexpo Alongside the 'Hi-Tech' solutions were several new additions to the well established foiling products.

The latest model CE 252 gave visitors the opportunity to see flexo printed labels being foil overprinted, laminated and then conventionally cut, slit and rewound.

The TN 1200 demonstrated the low cost opportunity for reel-to-reel slitting. Available in two models with either 600 mm or 1200 mm widths, the TN 1200 is available with either blades or crush knives for converting a wide range of substrates.

Completing the range of foiling machines were two of the small platen models which offer in-line features such as punching, creasing, hologram application, hot foil stamping and die-cutting.
